Why we exist

Too many digital education initiatives remain pilots.
They introduce tools—but fail to sustain impact.

We exist to change that.

We work with schools to build practical, sustainable digital education that continues beyond projects—driven by schools themselves.

What we are building

A growing network of schools across Ghana that:

  • Integrate digital learning into everyday teaching
  • Strengthen leadership for long-term transformation
  • Share knowledge and scale what works

This is not a pilot, this is a model designed to last and scale.

What we have achieved so far, since 2023

  • 50+ partner schools
  • 30,000+ learners reached
  • 600+ teachers trained
  • Active in 4 regions in Ghana

Working with:

  • Public & private schools
  • Primary, JHS, SHS, TVET & colleges

Where we are going

We are expanding access to sustainable digital education across Ghana.
This year:

  • Strengthening presence in current regions (Greater Accra, Volta, Eastern & Northern)
  • Deepening impact in member schools

Next phase:

  • Expanding into new regions
  • Scaling through partnerships

We are looking for partners

We are actively seeking:

  • Regional Implementation & Service partners
  • Funders supporting scalable education models
  • Government & system collaborators
  • Schools ready to join the network

If you are working on digital education at scale—we should talk.

We are hiring a General Manager – afiDE Ghana

Lead Digital Education in Ghana

afiDE Ghana supports a growing network of schools to lead their own digital transformation. What started as a service-based organisation is evolving into a member-based Digital Education Network, where schools build the capability to implement and sustain digital education themselves.

Today, afiDE Ghana – the African Digital Education network:

  • Supports 50+ schools across Greater Accra and is expanding into the Northern, Volta, and Eastern Regions
  • Has reached over 30,000 students and supported 600+ teachers through professional development
  • Recently launched the afiDE Leadership Academy, focused on strengthening school leadership for digital transformation
  • Works with 10+ active partners across the education ecosystem
  • Operates with a dedicated team of 8 staff members

The foundation is in place, the next phase is to scale this model sustainably across Ghana.

We are therefore hiring a General Manager to lead this transition.

The opportunity

This is not a traditional management role.

You will not be stepping into a stable organisation to maintain what exists.
You will be responsible for shaping and stabilising a system in transition.

The role sits at the intersection of:

  • education
  • technology
  • organisational development
  • and system-level change

Core mandate

Lead afiDE Ghana’s transition into a sustainable, nationwide, member-based Digital Education network — establishing its position as a leading Digital Education authority in Ghana while driving growth towards a financially self-sustaining model, strengthening organisational performance, and ensuring high-quality, value-driven services delivered through efficient, scalable systems.

What you will be responsible for

Lead the transition

  • Shift afiDE from service delivery to a member-based model
  • Build an advisory-oriented organisation (from delivering → enabling)
  • Ensure the model is implemented with discipline

Drive growth and financial sustainability

  • Expand the member base across Ghana
  • Strengthen revenue through value-driven services
  • Build a financially self-sustaining organisation

Ensure quality and integrity

  • Maintain high standards in implementation
  • Ensure schools are ready before scaling
  • Protect the long-term integrity of the model

Strengthen organisational performance

  • Improve systems, coordination, and execution
  • Increase team productivity through automation and development
  • Enable the organisation to scale effectively

Build partnerships and authority

  • Engage with government, private sector, and partners
  • Position afiDE as a credible Digital Education authority
  • Connect policy ambitions with school-level reality

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a leader who:

  • Can build structure while navigating ambiguity
  • Combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Has experience in multi-stakeholder environments
  • Understands the importance of financial sustainability and discipline
  • Is able to make difficult trade-offs and prioritise long-term impact
  • Leads people effectively and builds trust

Experience in education, digital transformation, or system-level change is an advantage.

What this role is not

  • Not a traditional operations role
  • Not a donor-driven programme management position
  • Not a short-term project implementation role

Practical details

  • Location: Accra (with nationwide engagement)
  • Experience: ~5+ years in relevant leadership roles
  • Team: 8 staff members
  • External engagement: ~50%
  • Remuneration: GHS 12,000 – 17,000 gross/month + performance-based incentives

Recruitment process

We run a structured selection process to ensure a strong match.

  1. Application via assessment form (20–30 minutes)
  2. Internal screening and shortlisting
  3. First-round interviews (max. 6 candidates)
  4. Case assignment
  5. Second-round interviews (max. 3 candidates)
  6. Team interaction (max. 2 candidates)
  7. Final interviews and alignment
  8. Reference checks
  9. Final decision

We aim to complete the process within 4–6 weeks.

International Day of Digital Learning – Lead with Us

Today, we join partners around the world in marking the International Day of Digital Learning, guided by UNESCO’s 2026 theme:

Building Digital Futures for Public Education

For afiDE Ghana, this theme speaks directly to the heart of our work. Schools cannot build their digital future with tools alone. They need reliable infrastructure, professional management, continuous support, and leaders who can guide digital transformation with confidence.

This is why afiDE Ghana delivers to it’s member schools Digital Education as a Service (DEaS) — a sustainable, professionally managed model that ensures every school can access modern digital learning environments without the burden of owning, maintaining, or troubleshooting technology on their own.

Lead with Us
International Digital Education Day 2026. Lead by UNESCO, UNICEF and ITU, supported by afiDE Ghana.

Digital Education as a Service (DEaS): A Sustainable Model for Schools

DEaS equips schools with everything required to make digital learning work — not once, but every day:

    1. A stable, modern digital learning environment with one of our Computerlabs
    2. Continual maintenance, updates, and professional support
    3. Teacher development and coaching in digital pedagogy
    4. Tools for data‑driven improvement
    5. Long‑term financial and operational sustainability

With DEaS, schools benefit from services that function reliably, so teachers can teach, learners can learn, and leaders can focus on leading.

Digital Futures Depend on Digital Leadership

While infrastructure matters, technology alone cannot change a school. Leadership does.

This is why afiDE Ghana’s theme for 2026 is: Shaping Leadership of Digital Education.

Strong digital leaders are essential for:

    • Setting a clear digital vision
    • Supporting teachers in adopting new methods
    • Making informed decisions based on school data
    • Creating a culture where technology is used with purpose
    • Ensuring sustainability long after new systems are introduced

Our Leadership Academy, launching in 2026, strengthens these leadership capacities—ensuring every school that adopts DEaS also develops the leadership needed to make digital learning thrive.

A Shared Responsibility for the Future

“Building Digital Futures for Public Education” is not the task of a single institution. It is a shared responsibility across educators, communities, partners, and policymakers.

afiDE Ghana is honoured to support this national effort by providing the systems, services, and leadership development needed to help every school move confidently into the digital age.

Digital futures do not happen by chance. They are built. And they are led.

GSET and RGC co-create Digital Education

Empowering Ghana’s Education: The Digital Leap Forward

In the heart of Ghana, a transformative initiative is underway, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s educational landscape. The Ghana Society for Education Technology (GSET) and afiDE Ghana (RGC) have embarked on a visionary partnership to elevate the standards of digital education and skills training across the country.

Since June 2024, this collaboration has been the driving force behind the creation of innovative educational content, specifically designed to empower School Leaders and Policymakers with the tools necessary to implement digital education effectively. The synergy between GSET and RGC is set to bear its first fruit with a high-level Seminar for Leaders and Policymakers scheduled for July 4th at the British Council in Accra, a gathering that promises to be a catalyst for change.

The commitment of both organizations to lead the transition to computer-based education is evident in their proactive approach. By selecting a team of adept trainers from GSET, including Miriam Ocloo, Albert Dunoo, and project leader Noble Dzreh, to join forces with RGC’s Brianna Dika and Aisha Mohammed, they aim to craft workshops, courses, and training materials that will build the capacity of school leaders and teachers in the realm of digital education.

Localised content aligned to Ghana’s new curriculum

The training programs are meticulously designed to resonate with the Ghanaian context, aligning with the national curriculum and educational levels. These sessions, optimized for integration with RGC’s Computerlabs, will be offered free of charge to all partner schools, reflecting a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. Teachers participating in these programs will have the opportunity to enhance their expertise, progressing from basic to Gold level, and ultimately becoming ‘Trainers of Teachers in Digital Education’. New courses for teachers will be released at the start of the new academic year.

Leading the change in computer-based education

This initiative is not just about imparting knowledge; it’s about shaping the future of education in Ghana. Well-trained educators are the cornerstone of high-quality education, and through this partnership, GSET and RGC are nurturing a generation of teachers equipped to unlock the full potential of digital skills among students.

As this collaboration unfolds, it invites other stakeholders to join in the mission to unlock digital skills with students in Ghana. It’s a call to action for those who envision a future where education is synonymous with innovation and where every student is prepared to thrive in a digital world.

Stay tuned for updates on this groundbreaking journey, as GSET and RGC continue to pave the way for a digitally empowered Ghana.
