The seeds of this alliance were sown in the vibrant city of Accra, where Daniel Kwaku Ganyoame, the visionary founder and Executive Director of AIR, graced our new office in Adjiringanor. Alongside our Marketing Manager Nicole Odudu and the Program Manager of AIR, Awo Quarshie-Awusah, Daniel set the wheels in motion for a service that promises to transform the educational landscape – the investment-free Computerlab-as-a-Service.

RGC, born from the collaboration between RecellGhana and 1A Computerlabs in the Netherlands, is on a mission to equip Ghana’s youth with the digital skills necessary to excel in the 21st century. Our managed Computerlab-as-a-Service for schools is a testament to our commitment to providing internet-connected, carefree educational solutions.

Celebrating Success: Highlights from our Grand Opening

Adjiringanor, Accra, 19 March 2024 – The grand opening of afiDE Ghana’ new office space was an unforgettable celebration, marked by moments of joy, excitement, and anticipation. 

Our Startup leader (Brianna Dika) MC’d this unforgettable event. She welcomed our guests after an opening prayer and introduced the afiDE Ghana team to all guests. She also gave an overview of the company’s mission and vision. We welcomed our Guest Speaker of the day, Mrs Barbara Wallington, who shared her life story on how she was impacted by her education, lessons she learnt along the way and the resources and opportunities she seized. Mr Nana Yaw Tettey, The Headmaster for one of our partner schools (Acropolis Maranatha Academy), also shared with us the school’s experience with our Computerlab and their vision for the partnership with us. Brianna took the audience on an interactive journey of our services to schools ambitious to implement computer-based education and what makes us stand out.

Youth Ambassador Tyrone Marhguy unveiled

The excitement of our event was heightened when our Youth Ambassador, in the person of Tyrone Iras Marhguy, was unveiled, with our Executive Director handing over a laptop to him. This branded laptop will enable Tyrone’s to promote Digital Literacy in Ghana. He shared a few words about his excitement to join the afiDE Ghana family. The team with the Youth Ambassador cut the ribbon to our new office location at Adjiringanor.

All guests were offered the opportunity to go on an exclusive office tour. The tour ended at the in-house Computerlab, where our technical officer, Daniel Toah Akonnor, took our guests through a demonstration. Furthermore, our Client relations officer, Aisha Mohammed, answered all questions posed by our guests to their satisfaction. Guests were refreshed with an assortment of delicious drinks and forged meaningful connections with fellow attendees, after which the closing remarks were given by our Executive Director, Mr Hanc de Bokx. The Grand Opening ended with a closing prayer by one of our partners, Rev Nat Mensah of Empac Ghana

At the heart of Ghana, where the sun greets the earth, a new chapter unfolds at afiDE Ghana (RGC). With the spirit of innovation in the air, RGC welcomed their shining star, Digital Education Ambassador Tyrone Iras Marhguy into its family during the Grand Opening on 19-03-2024.

As a talented Computer Engineering student and mathematician, Tyrone brings his expertise and passion to help us advance digital skills education in Ghana. During a recent interview at Ashesi University, Tyrone shared his commitment to improving digital literacy. His role at RGC will involve promoting our mission and participating in events to highlight the importance of digital skills.

Tyrone’s enthusiasm for this cause is clear: “I’m eager to help equip the youth of Ghana with the digital skills they need for the future,” he says. With Tyrone on board, we’re set to reach more schools and empower a new generation of tech-savvy leaders.

Royal Madonna Embraces the Future with afiDE Ghana Partnership

Taifa, Accra – The Royal Madonna School in Taifa has taken a significant leap into the future with the installation of a new digital skills lab on March 15, 2024. This initiative is part of a transformative partnership with afiDE Ghana, which specialises in providing Computerlab-as-a-Service. This collaboration represents a five-year, investment-free agreement that equips the school with the necessary infrastructure to offer top-notch computer-based education.

The comprehensive Computerlab-as-a-Service includes:

  • The use of a fully equipped Computerlab from afiDE Ghana.
  • The use of a full suite of legitimate educational software aligned with the Ghana National ICT Curriculum.
  • Professional training for teachers to effectively utilise the new technology.
  • A dedicated helpdesk for ongoing teacher support.
  • Reliable 4G internet connectivity with a generous allowance of 25Gb per month.
  • Real-time monitoring of lab performance, ensuring security and software maintenance.
  • Regular hardware maintenance, including a repair and replacement service at no additional cost.

This strategic partnership is designed to guide Royal Madonna School on its journey to produce digitally skilled students, addressing a critical need in Ghana’s educational landscape. afiDE Ghana is committed to the long-term operation of the digital skills laboratory, assuring maintenance, replacement, and updating of the facilities throughout the partnership.

Under the leadership of Headmaster Madam Priscilla Asare, Royal Madonna School has a history of excellence, with numerous awards in sports and academics. The school’s participation in the Independence Day march pass at El Wak Sports Stadium in 2024 is a testament to its vibrant community presence.

The inauguration of the Computer Lab was met with great excitement, marking a new era for the Royal Madonna School. Empowered by this partnership, the school is now delivering a cutting-edge educational experience that nurtures the next generation of leaders and innovators in Ghana.
